About Polygon Systems
  • The Polygon System, using high-precision non-round profiles, is widely considered to be the ultimate method for making torque connections. The system replaces pins, keys, splines, serrations, involute splines, and many other commonly used drive connection methods.

  • The most commonly used polygon profiles have either three or four lobes, or sides. The three-lobed P3 profile is generally used on fixed (non-sliding) connections, and on tapered connections. The four-lobed PC4 profile can be used on either sliding or non-sliding connections.

  • Polygon shaped shafts and bores present many advantages in applications calling for fixed or sliding connections. These advantages can be seen in Polygon Benefits page.
